124 units + Community Center (2,606 sqft) | Shreveport, LA | 2014
This development was built in two phases beginning in the mid 1970’s and consists of 12 buildings in a 2-story walk up configuration. The existing site suffered poor drainage and no accessible routes, while the buildings had single pane windows, insufficient insulation, aluminum wiring, collective metering, and severe termite damage. Renovations were largely based on principles of the Enterprise Green Communities to provide environmentally conscious design while simultaneously encouraging healthy lifestyle options for the low-income tenants. The renovated community center provides an activity room, business center with access to career assistance resources, and a fitness center outfitted with modern equipment.
